Forno Dual Fuel Range

Your kitchen has a Forno Alta Qualita freestanding dual fuel range: gas burners on top, two electric ovens below. Each oven works on its own.

Cooktop quick start

  1. Push and turn. Push the control knob in and turn it counterclockwise to HIGH.
  2. Ignite. You will hear a clicking sound. When the burner lights, keep the knob pressed in for 5 to 10 seconds.
  3. Adjust the flame. Turn the knob to the flame size you want.
  4. Cook. Place cookware on the grate. Flat-bottom pans work best.
  5. Turn off. Turn the knob clockwise to OFF.

Most common mistake

Letting go of the knob too soon after the burner lights. Holding it in lets the safety valve engage and keep the flame on. If the flame goes out when you release the knob, repeat the lighting steps and hold it in longer.

Important

  • Gas burners need the knob held in for 5 to 10 seconds after ignition.
  • If the burner does not stay lit, repeat the steps.
  • Make sure the burner cap is seated properly.

Oven quick start

Each oven operates independently.

  1. Select a function. Turn the function knob to Bake, Broil, Convection Bake, Convection Broil or another setting.
  2. Set the temperature. Turn the temperature knob to the temperature you want.
  3. Preheat. Wait until the indicator light turns off.
  4. Cook. Place your food in the oven.
  5. Turn off. Turn both the function knob and the temperature knob back to OFF.

Oven tips

  • Use the middle rack for most cooking.
  • Convection cooks faster and more evenly, so reduce the cooking time slightly.
  • Keep the oven door closed while cooking.
  • Use oven mitts. Handles and knobs can get hot.

Mountain tip

You are at about 7,000 feet. High altitude changes cooking times and temperatures:

  • Foods may take longer to cook.
  • Baked goods may brown faster.
  • Use a food thermometer for best results.

When you're finished

  • Turn all knobs to OFF.
  • Check that all burners and both ovens are off.
  • Let the range cool before cleaning.
  • Wipe up any spills.

Cleaning and care

  • Wipe spills after the range has cooled.
  • Use mild soap and a soft cloth on stainless steel.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool.
  • Remove the grates and burner caps for deeper cleaning.
